I wish all food were pretty. But, it isn’t. I love lentil soup, but it tends to look like mud. I love asparagus marinated in balsalmic vineager, but I tends to look like it has been sitting in motor oil. Peas soup is heaven, but we won’t even talk about what it looks like. Mud. These foods are clear as mud. This next Call will be clear a mud to a few of you. Take a deep breath and remember that sometimes it is all worth it in the end. Investigate, at least…
Check out this Call for Entries for Underground Symposium of Electronic Art (USEA) in Albuquerque, NM. There is no entry fee, and I know some of you are still looking for a New Mexico show for your resume. I suspect this show, or collective of shows, is going to be a rock-n-roll, seat-of-your-pants thrill ride. Don’t miss it!

USEA – Surliest Symposium
of Electronic Art
The Underground Symposium of Electronic Art (USEA)–the spiciest symposium of electronic art–seeks low-fi-ing artists to populate the skies, screens, and spaces of Albuquerque. Other Symposia of Electronic Art too International? Gone rogue with no place to go? Team up with local DIYers to scavenge radio waves, screen time, gallery space, lamp posts, walls, public outlets, street corners, and other possibilities for no-budget/at-all-costs artwork.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all
MEDIA: Any type of media, w/focus on digital media, installations and audio/video work
DEADLINE: August 1, 2012 (proposals / physical work) / September 1, 2012 (digital media)
NOTIFICATION: One week after submission
ENTRY FEE: None
JURORS: A panel of native (Albuquerque) artists and organizers.
